Gadget leaving Otto's Daughter

Gadget is leaving Otto's Daughter. This coming Sunday show will be Gadgets last show with Otto's Daughter. We want all of you to know that we're parting in peace; as friends. It is very possible that Gadget and I will keep writing music together for other projects as well as for Otto's Daughter.

People change and so do their priorities, dreams and goals. Again, it is only fair of Gadget to tell me where his heart is at and what his priorities are at this time. I accept that.

We will take a short break after this show and work all of April on new concept, finish new material, new live show and a new line up, it is possible that the band name will change. As of right now, nothing has been decided. We are just brainstorming. Hope to see you Sunday at the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal City Walk.

D1 Distribution

FYI D1's parent company Astro America, LLC has entered into a few distribution agreements. Amongst the distributed labels are Centerline Music, TMG Music, Inc and Divorce Records. Centerline will have it's first release "Street Trophy" by rapper K-E-V in stores April 26th and TMG is scheduled to release a new artist Nina Shaw, lastly Divorce Records has a powerful country singer named Rick Monroe who is already on country radio stations around the USA and Rick is currently gearing up for his second or third European tour. Their release should come out in June or July 2005. Rick's country songs totally rock. Look for many good things to come from Astro America, LLC in the coming year.

Vanity Beach: Vengeance

Time for an update don't you think?

It's been almost 2 years since we released our "debut album" 'Nights of the New'... a collection of the band's early demos. The whole thing kinda blew out of proportion.. as we never really planned or expected to sell thousands of copies of it... oh well... shit happens :/

'Vengeance' is the name of the new album.. Over 30 songs have been demoed and the songs have been picked....13 songs! Song titles include: 'Every picture tells a story', 'Take me to Tokyo', 'Venice' and 'Vengeance'. The majority of the synths have already been recorded and t2s is almost finished with the drums (we’ll be posting some clips from the studio sessions soon)… No instrumentals are planned, unless of course we come up with something brutally beautiful in the studio… which usually happens :P

The release date for the album is May 24th, 2005….. A record release party will be held at Dubrovnik/Andorra in Helsinki on May 20th……. Our friends Pedigree (EST) and Sexy Death (SWE) will also be performing that night. It’s gonna be a wild night! We’re only selling 200 tickets for that night.. so if you want tix…be sure to email vb@vanity-beach.com now.

In other news ‘Nights of the New’ will be released in Australia with 2 new bonus tracks in April/May through Electricult/MGM Distribution. Thnx to Manek, Tal and DITC! See you guys soon! Oh and if you for some reason haven’t heard Dead Inside The Chrysalis’ new disc ‘The Humanoid Expansion Pack’ yet,… head over to http://www.myspace.com/deadinsidethechrysalis and check it out!

Check back later tonight for a video of our song ‘The Synthetic’…. The video was filmed in Tartu, Estonia in February by our good friend Alex Frejrud (www.sexydeath.com)….

Oh ..one more thing… ‘Vengeance’ has nothing to do with the ‘Dance’ EP…. The tracks recorded for ‘Dance’ will be used as B-sides… this new shit kills all the old stuff…!

Keep checking back.. we’ll try to post updates on a daily basis! New site coming in May!

Amphibious Assault - updates and myspace

HEYO!

I thought I'd post, I'm still alive. The worst of school(for now) is over. I know it's so boring me posting about my school life..but it's really the only thing I do!

The record is on the way to being done. I have some titles floating around, some obscene, some serious. Depends how silly I feel I guess. When school is out in April, I will have ample amounts of time to finish it and do all the jazz needed to be done for June. It shall be grand. There will be a London-Area cd release party of some kind, more details to come when it gets closer to the date and...yah know, I've recorded it and everything. haha.

Hope all of you are doing well, you rock! :)

OH! There is a fun AA myspace..feel free to join. Not much different than the site, but its fun to see some old faces there :D I think someone emailed me about a AA Group..so search for one of those too.

SXSW in Austin

A few of the Orgy business family including me will be at
SXSW passing out flyers for a couple of labels that are under the D1 distribution umbrella. If any of you are going send me a PM and let's meet up in Austin. I know a few board members will be there to hang out and pass out flyers for the Orgy DVD and PSP stickers. Gotta keep spreading the word. We are hoping for the end of May or a June release for the DVD but can't confirm it just yet. IT is getting closer for sure most of the legal problems have been resolved !!

Fluffy Starr...and two boys you know VERY well

If you haven't been over to Fluffy Starr's site lately, you're really missing out on the gear-up for the upcoming album. Earlier this year she had a chance to hang out with two very awesome and well-known musicians, and there's a pic of them together on the forum. But you've gotta be a Fluffite to see it! Believe me...signing up for the message board is worth it for this one.

D1 expands distribution efforts

Astro America, LLC, the D1 parent company is proud to announce that it will distribute Centerline Music & Entertainment, Inc studio albums, through it's distribution agreement with Innovative Distribution Network - IDN.

The first release is a hip-hop album recorded by street prophet & poet K-E-V, the album title is "STREET TROPHY". K-E-V's dad got involved with his son's career in an effort to keep him from becoming another street statistic.

K-E-V puts his love for writing poetry to good use throughout his impressive Street Trophy album, telling tales, through his rhymes of what street life is really all about.

This album is dedicated to the loving memory of K-E-V's dad, Leonard Vaughan Robinson, Rest In Peace old friend. Leonard passed away February 15, 2005, but he lived long enough to make sure his son's career was on its way. This album would not have been possible without his belief in K-E-V and his financial backing.

The official retail release date for "STREET TROPHY" is April 26th 2005. Centerline's CEO & head honcho is Howard Scott Lipp. Howard started out in the music business as a kid and is a multi talented musician, engineer and all around digital wizard with over 15 years experience in the music business.

The first single from “STREET TROPHY” is titled "CHURRP"; it's all about cell phones and how much they are used in everyday life. The video was directed by a very influential hip-hop video company Radical Music, headed by world famous Video Director, Dave Meyers. Eric Shoe is an up and coming super star director & a very sharp understudy of Dave's that did the hands on directing of the CHURRP video although Dave was one of the first to arrive on the set and one of the last to leave.

As the story goes, when Dave was just about the graduate from college K-E-V was a young aspiring rapper and Dave needed to direct a rap video as part of his completion assignment, so K-E-V was his first effort at doing a rap video. Radical Music, Dave's company is now one of the most influential & respected video companies in the world. So poetic justice came to the rescue and Dave got Eric to complete what we think is a very good video with lots of pretty girls and a few great low rider car scenes. I mean what's hip-hop without the girls and the low rider cars?

Howard is very optimistic about the success of this street poet PKA: K-E-V and so Centerline has assembled a very powerful team of music industry professionals to handle radio promotions, publicity and marketing. They plan to work this new artists release very aggressively.

"Blue" Music Video & DVD!

Last weekend, the band wrapped up their parts for the “Blue” music video in NY State. Much thanks goes out to Dan Ouellette and Co. for the amazing and detailed work put into the production of this project. The video will be released this coming May, with a DVD release to follow in early summer. The image in the flyer above is an on-location photograph, for the record.

While only Mera Luna and Zillo Festival have been announced thus far, we will be touring parts of Europe (for more festivals and select club dates) through the end of July and mid-August this summer. Dates will be posted in the forthcoming weeks.

In between working on new material, we are currently putting together new merchandise (some to be announced within the next week), and will be overhauling the shopping cart to include more features and multi-payment options shortly. Revisions and additions will be making their way to The Violet Prison as well.

Thanks to everyone for their overwhelming support over the past few months. Things are really beginning to shake up, and it’s all attributed to your word-of-mouth recommendations – while there are not enough hours in the day to answer every e-mail/PM/myspace message, please know that we keep tabs on all the hard work you are doing, and it is always appreciated and admired!
