Julien-K: It's Coming

The last few months have been extremely productive for JK, and, at the same time we are experiencing severe priority disarray. Obviously we have not focused on the website... or anything that does not have to do with the music. At this point we have about 16 songs written despite the normal chaos that accompanies putting out a new record. Orgy has also been a constant diversion… usually a fun diversion I admit, but the time has come to focus. The time has come to officially start recording! October 15, long beach CA. @ the vault & October 16, agora hills CA @ the canyon -- will probably be the last orgy shows in the foreseeable future... so you might want to come to these!
I cannot begin to tell you what massive, groundbreaking events have transpired as a result of our starting JK. This is turning out to be more than a band. The talent pool that has formed around JK is unreal. I am blown away by the intense interest we have received from people WE look up to... Information regarding how we are going to release the record, the label we are involved with, clothing line, and tons of other shit will eventually leak out, but for now this is all I will say. We now have the capability to execute this project in a completely new way... the problem now is settling on the most interesting course of action....

Welcome to our new staff member, Jak!

As you may have seen on the Radio-Active-Music.com myspace profile, Jak is our new Promotional Manger and Street Team Coordinator.

Within a few months of the launch of Radio-Active-Music.com, the site was ready for an expanded staff. Artist support veteran Jak, most well recognized for his role as promotion and merchendise manager for Club Decease, was added as the the promotional manager and street team coordinator for Radio-Active-Music.com. On the flip side of things, Jak has been the drummer for several bands, including Zoolu Cracker (punk rock), Stitched Root (neu metal), and also in Sindrome (hard rock) with members from Club Decease. Jak is willing and able to support good artists in any way he can, and is currently pursuing his own talents in webdesign.

For more information about Jak and the other staff positions currently up for grabs, check out the new staff page.

Again, a warm welcome to Jak!

Guest appearance on WUVT

Due to an unexpected coordination of schedules, I will be back on WUVT this week! The new schedule is Tuesday afternoons, 3:15-5pm Eastern; so if you're in the area, tune in to 90.7fm Blacksburg! If you're not in the area, don't worry...WUVT recently added an OGG stream to broadcast on the internet, so if you can still listen in. Simply plug either http://engine.collegemedia.vt.edu:8000/wuvt.ogg for high speed or http://engine.collegemedia.vt.edu:8000/wuvt-lb.ogg for dial-up into the latest full version of Winamp. For more help or for options for other platforms, visit http://www.wuvt.vt.edu/listen.html.

Call in and request some music! In the past I've been able to play artists such as 51 Peg, Celldweller, Dead Sexy, Disown, Fluffy Starr, Glamour Kings, Ion, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Julien-K, Kristyn Strange, Lunarclick*, No Fate, Orgy, Otto's Daughter, Redrum, The Anix, The Birthday Massacre, and Vanity Beach...plus more!

What might you expect this week? How about some new songs from Otto's Daughter, Snake River Conspiracy, Anjeliina, and Lunarclick*? And maybe...if I can twist Jacob's arm...a sneak peak at the new Tripleside EP?

Call in and request some music! 540-231-WUVT!

Radio-Active-Music.com welcomes Tripleside to the site!

Please welcome Tripleside as the latest addition to the site. You may have seen this name already in the last few weeks; frontman is our favorite DJ, Jacob from WUVT. This is one of those bands that fall into the "other" catagory for radio-active-music.com - if you're a fan of soft acoustic rock, this is the band for you. Artist page coming soon!
